-able rate of interest on the Capital outlay, it is

necessary that the nett earnings of the Chinese Section be 84,200 per mile per annum. Then on the basis of the ratio given above the nett earnings of British Section should be $10,871 (by $4,200) per mile per annum. Addi to both these figures, say X9,800 for working expenses and

the theoretical gross earnings of the sections are:-
